Why did it take so long for LUMOS?
A variety of factors, but the biggest one was simply that we have lived in different places (Joe in Providence, myself in Lawrence, KS) for the past decade. Lumos is an album entirely about the 7th Harry Potter book and to adequately do the book justice, we really wanted to set aside some dedicated time to work on this record. With authoritarianism on the rise, it felt like a productive time for us to address the 7th book and so we started making time for that in early 2018 traveling back and forth to write and record.
